Ion Stefanovici - biography

Ion Ștefanovici is a Romanian economist with expertise accumulated between 2004 and 2024 in economic policy and regional development. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the economic integration framework of Eastern Europe, focusing particularly on cooperation between Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine.

As President of the **Center for Regional Development Planning and Analysis**, Ion Ștefanovici plays a crucial role in formulating policies and strategies to stimulate economic growth and regional cooperation. He has been an active promoter of cross-border collaboration and the use of European Union funds for the sustainable development of the Extended Moldova Region.

In addition to his work at the center, Ion Ștefanovici is also the founder of **Moldova Invest**, an organization dedicated to providing expertise in foreign trade consultancy, attracting foreign direct investments, developing development strategies, and implementing EU funds. **Moldova Invest** focuses on supporting businesses in Romania and Moldova, facilitating their access to international markets and promoting strategic partnerships for economic development.

Ion Ștefanovici began his academic career at **Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași**, where he earned a degree in Business Administration, specializing in International Relations and Business in 2004 – specializing in Attracting Foreign Direct Investments in Romania.

He continued his studies in Political Communication and Electoral Marketing at the **National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA)** in Bucharest, completing them in 2006.

Between 2009 and 2011, he completed a Master’s program in Information Management (MICT) at the **National Intelligence Academy**, and in 2024 he completed an advanced program at the **European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA)**, focused on “Smart Investments at the Regional Level in EU Funds and Programs 2021-2027.”

Through his work at the Center for Regional Development Planning and Analysis and **Moldova Invest**, Ion Ștefanovici continues to contribute to economic development and regional integration, promoting projects that stimulate sustainable growth and international cooperation in Eastern Europe.
