Ion ȘTEFANOVICI: „AUR Suceava – between the electorate’s expectations and the responsibility of assuming concrete projects for the county”

100 economic opportunities for the development of the Moldova Region on the A7 Highway route
Ion Stefanovici, President of CAPDR
AUR Suceava: Rapid Growth or Long-Term Strategy?
The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) party has managed to carve out a place on Suceava’s political scene in a relatively short time, capitalizing on the dissatisfaction of a segment of the electorate with traditional parties. However, after several years of active presence in county administration, a natural question arises: Is AUR Suceava merely a temporary political wave, or does it have a real plan for the county?
Local Leaders and the Party’s Positioning
In recent years, AUR Suceava has been represented by several local leaders who have sought to establish the party as an alternative to old political structures. However, beyond rhetoric, its real impact on local administration remains modest. Although its public discourse is strong, in the County Council and local administrations, AUR’s concrete initiatives are few and have had little impact on the county’s development.
Currently, AUR Suceava is represented in Parliament by Petru Gabriel Negrea, Lucian Florin Pușcașu, and Veronica Grosu as deputies, and Virgiliu George Vlăescu as senator. They are at the beginning of their political careers and have the opportunity to prove they can go beyond populist rhetoric and take concrete action for the county’s development.
AUR Suceava’s Position on Major County Projects
📌 Highway A7 – While AUR has openly declared its support for the Moldova Highway project, there is no real involvement in promoting it. So far, there have been no concrete steps taken by AUR parliamentarians to accelerate the investment and, most importantly, to ensure its integration into the region’s strategic economic connections. Highway A7 is not just a road infrastructure project; it is an essential driver for attracting investments, creating new industrial areas, and economically connecting Suceava County to the rest of the country and European markets.
📌 Tourism in Bukovina – Suceava has enormous tourism potential, yet AUR has not proposed a coherent development plan for this sector. What is the party’s vision for harnessing the county’s cultural and natural heritage?
📌 Foreign Investments and Economic Development – A crucial question remains: Does AUR Suceava support attracting private capital and foreign investments to the county? So far, there is no clear strategy in this direction.
📌 Education and Workforce Development – In a county with a prestigious university, such as USV, and initiatives like the dual education program in Moara, what is AUR’s strategy for modernizing education and preparing young people for the labor market?
📌 The Medical Sector and Investment Continuity in Healthcare – As Suceava becomes a regional medical center, expanding services for patients from Botoșani and Neamț, what projects does AUR propose to strengthen this status?
📌 Bucșoaia Camp in the City of Frasin – Another major commitment AUR made during the campaign was the complete renovation of the Bucșoaia camp, a project that could significantly benefit educational and sports tourism in the county. To date, no clear plan has been presented by AUR parliamentarians to implement this objective. What concrete steps will the party take to turn this promise into reality?
AUR and the Upcoming Elections: Between Popularity and Pragmatism
AUR Suceava faces a major challenge: transforming radical rhetoric into a viable political strategy. The anti-system discourse has worked so far, but the electorate will demand concrete solutions to the county’s problems.
In a challenging economic context, with major infrastructure, healthcare, education, and regional development issues, AUR Suceava must prove it can offer more than just rhetoric.
CAPDR’s Position: Suceava Needs Real Partners for Development
As President of CAPDR, I express my openness to collaborating with any party that understands the importance of a strategic vision for Suceava County. AUR Suceava enjoys strong support from citizens, both in county and local public administration and at the parliamentary level. However, this support must be reinforced through concrete projects and a commitment to the county’s development.
📌 We expect clear initiatives from AUR Suceava regarding:
✅ Tangible support for Highway A7
✅ A realistic plan for tourism development
✅ Genuine support for attracting investments and creating jobs
✅ Involvement in essential educational and healthcare projects
✅ The complete renovation of Bucșoaia Camp, as promised during the campaign
📌 AUR Suceava parliamentarians must learn from past mistakes. Suceava has had representatives who held political positions for years but failed to deliver results. We expect AUR’s deputies and senator not to repeat the mistakes of politicians like Ioan Stan, but to present concrete solutions, be transparent, and take responsibility for clear projects for the county.
💡 Suceava does not need parties that only criticize but rather parties that build. AUR Suceava must prove it can deliver results, not just campaign slogans.
