Ion ȘTEFANOVICI – Invitation to Participate in the Opening Conference of the Cross-Border Project CAPDR – ADR Chișinău

Dear Regional Partners,

I am pleased to inform you about the positive progress of the Multiannual Programmatic Document of the Moldova Region for the period 2025–2030, a strategic initiative that will form the basis for aligning the Moldova Region with the new European financial framework. This document aims to harness the opportunities offered by the European program of over 2 trillion euros, through the evaluation and financing of the public–private priorities of the Moldova Region, both in the current and in the future EU financial framework.

We estimate that the MPDMR 2025–2030 will be subject to regional debate during October–November 2025.

The document is largely built upon the works of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2025 held in Vatra Dornei, which brought together over 600 representatives from the six counties of the Moldova Region, from the Republic of Moldova, and from Ukraine. The debates were structured around the following thematic panels: Strategic Investments in the Extended Moldova Region / Accessing EU Funds / Foreign Trade and International Markets / The Role of Infrastructure in Economic Development / Energy and Sustainable Energy Transition / Health and Medical Services in the Moldova Region / Tourism and Destination Development in the Moldova Region / Mountain Economy – Valorization of Local Resources / Culture and Regional Identity / Regional and International Cooperation – Partnerships for Development. In parallel, the event also included the “Taste of MOLDOVA” Fair, an exhibition space that showcased the authentic products of the region.

In this context, we remind you that the Moldova Region, through CAPDR, has undertaken the role of uniting energies and giving consistency to a natural regional expansion.

The Extended Moldova Region is not limited to the borders of the six counties in northeastern Romania, but also fully includes the Republic of Moldova and opens up to the regions of Ukraine eligible for EU cross-border cooperation programs.

On this basis, I am pleased to extend to you the invitation to participate in one of our ongoing projects, which will be launched at the Palace of the Republic in Chișinău, on September 11 this year. This event represents a new expression of our common vision: to strengthen cross-border cooperation and to connect the Moldova Region to European and international processes.

For those of you interested in the dimension of cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, please note that this event and the project that will be implemented over 12 months offer an excellent opportunity to capitalize on the accelerated dynamics of multidisciplinary cooperation between our countries: public administration, economy, health, education, and culture.

We wish you a productive autumn in your activity, emphasizing that regardless of the field in which you operate, results can only be maximized through regional cooperation. At the same time, we inform you that in the upcoming period, the following regional programs will be launched: Via Moldavia (tourism/culture/events), MoldovaHUB, The Romania–China Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Moldova Region, while in parallel work is underway on two other regional projects dedicated to health and education.

I am convinced that what we are building today through work and cooperation is not only for the present, but for the generations to come. The times demand from us vision and responsibility, so that the Moldova Region is not only part of Romania and Europe, but also a model of unity and wisdom in the face of future challenges.

With respect,
Ion ȘTEFANOVICI
President of CAPDR
