Last year marked a significant change in the leadership of the Suceava County Council, and now, in 2025, we have the opportunity to turn this change into a real development partnership for the county and the entire region.
The Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2025, organized in Vatra Dornei in partnership with Suceava County Council, Vatra Dornei City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suceava, and SME associations from the county, represents a key moment in shaping a solid economic future.
The Moldova Regional Economic Forum – A Platform for Suceava and the Greater Moldova Region
This event is more than just a gathering of leaders and the business community – it is a regional development strategy that integrates all major projects of Suceava County. We are discussing a clear partnership for progress, involving the county administration, the business sector, and educational institutions.
Key Projects for Suceava County’s Development:
- A7 Highway – Collaboration for Regional Development – A7 is not just a road project; it is a backbone for economic development in Suceava and the entire Moldova region. We need a joint strategy to support connected infrastructure, industrial zones, and economic hubs within the county.
- Tourism Sustainability – A Pilot Program for the Dornelor Basin – Tourism in Suceava can become a national model for sustainable development. The forum will lay the foundation for a pilot development program for the Dornelor Basin, aimed at creating modern infrastructure, supporting local entrepreneurs, and promoting ecotourism and health tourism.
- Continuing the County’s Healthcare Projects – Suceava is becoming a regional medical center, and expanding services for patients from Botoșani and Neamț must be a priority. Investments in hospital modernization and developing partnerships with neighboring counties will ensure equitable access to quality medical services.
- Attracting Foreign Direct Investments – Suceava must become a magnet for international private capital. Establishing well-connected industrial zones, implementing advantageous local tax policies, and fostering public-private partnerships can stimulate the county’s economy.
- Education and Workforce Development – The Dual Education Project in Moara – “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava plays a crucial role in training future generations. The Dual Education Project in Moara aims not only at young people in Suceava but also in Botoșani and Neamț, offering a concrete solution to boost regional competitiveness.
- Opening Economic Perspectives in Western Ukraine After Peace is Restored – Suceava can become an economic hub for cross-border cooperation with Western Ukraine, facilitating the development of trade corridors, joint investments, and economic partnerships. The Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2025 can lay the groundwork for a strategic platform integrating Suceava into future economic reconstruction plans for Ukraine’s regions.
- Supporting Cultural and Film Production – The “Sun of Moldova” Project – The culture and historical heritage of the region must be promoted nationally and internationally. A key example is the “Sun of Moldova” film project, which highlights the story of Stephen the Great and contributes to strengthening the region’s cultural identity. In the summer of 2025, screenings of the film are planned at the Princely Fortress, creating a tourist attraction and a moment of reaffirming Moldova’s cultural values. Additionally, new scenes will continue to be filmed in the Moldova region, with a special focus on Suceava County, further strengthening the link between film production and the region’s tourism and economic promotion.
