Ion ȘTEFANOVICI, President of CAPDR: “The Northern Route (Suceava – Botoșani – Bălți – Soroca) is becoming a space for joint development”

Mesaje publice
The meetings held in recent days in the North of the Republic of Moldova confirmed one essential thing for me and the CAPDR team: this area is ready to take an active role in a coherent regional cooperation architecture, directly connected to the Moldova Region in Romania.
Participation in the event dedicated to the North Regional Development Agency Days, as well as the working meetings at the Soroca District Council, Soroca City Hall, and Florești City Hall, provided a framework for dialogue and a space for clarification, alignment, and joint construction of future cross-border projects.
At the center of all discussions was the platform ro-md.capdr.ro – the technical and conceptual core of the cross-border cooperation we are building through CAPDR. The platform was presented as a tool to connect administrations, institutions, the economic sector, and organizations, a shared workspace that allows structuring initiatives, aggregating project ideas, and reporting them within a coherent, transparent framework aligned with European directions.
The Northern Route Suceava – Botoșani – Bălți – Soroca represents the outline of a natural cooperation axis, based on proximity, shared history, economic complementarity, and a shared vision for development.
During the meetings, I found in the local administrations of the North of the Republic of Moldova an authentic openness towards:
- direct institutional partnerships with localities and similar structures in Romania
- exchange of experience in public administration
- local economic development and support for entrepreneurs
- joint projects in agriculture, education, and tourism
- integration into a long-term regional collaboration network
The dialogue was mature, applied, and results-oriented, marked by mutual respect and a shared desire to build together.
ro-md.capdr.ro – a working tool and convergence point
The platform developed by CAPDR is viewed as:
- a shared space for institutional dialogue
- a coordination mechanism for cross-border initiatives
- a tool to connect relevant actors in the region
- a basis for developing projects eligible for European funding
- a platform for reporting and visibility of joint activities
The interest shown in using it confirms the need for a unified framework capable of transforming existing initiatives into a well-defined strategic direction.
The North of the Republic of Moldova, in correlation with the Moldova Region in Romania
For CAPDR, the development of the North of the Republic of Moldova, in correlation with the Moldova Region in Romania, represents a major strategic objective. This connection takes shape through people, institutions, communities, and initiatives that find common points and align their development directions.
Participation in the meetings and events of this delegation demonstrates that there is both the will and the capacity to consolidate durable, constructive, and forward-looking cooperation.
Conclusion
The journey along the Northern Route – Suceava, Botoșani, Bălți, Soroca – had a clear purpose: transforming geographic proximity into a joint project, turning dialogue into a cooperation architecture, and transforming vision into coordinated action.
Through CAPDR and the ro-md.capdr.ro platform, this regional axis gains structure, continuity, and direction, becoming a strategic component of future development in the Romanian-Moldovan space.
This is an important step in building a better connected, better organized, and better prepared region for the challenges ahead.
