The Moldova Region is currently undergoing a defining period, marked by historic opportunities as well as complex challenges
In this context, the Multiannual Programmatic Document of the Moldova Region – 2025 (MPDMR) reflects our firm and pragmatic commitment to ensuring the sustainable, integrated, and competitive development of this region.
It is our shared responsibility to capitalize on these opportunities and to find effective solutions for the challenges that arise. The year 2025 is a key moment: the A7 Motorway, the digital platform MoldovaHUB, and the Moldova Regional Economic Forum (FERM 2025) are just a few of the milestones on this strategic path.
Ion ȘTEFANOVICI: “A forum essential for the sustainable development of the Moldova Region”
The Moldova Regional Economic Forum is a landmark event dedicated to the economic, social, and infrastructure development of the Moldova Region. Organized within a strategic framework, the Forum brings together decision-makers, investors, experts, representatives of local and central public administration, business leaders, NGOs, and international institutions. Participating delegations come from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, EU member states, the Western Balkans, the Middle East, and Asia, through regions with strategic interest in Moldova’s economic development.
Three priorities, one direction: sustainable development
MPDMR 2025 is structured around three fundamental priorities:
🔹 Matching supply with demand – consolidating a healthy circular economy in which public and private actors collaborate based on clear economic principles.
🔹 Identifying and addressing systemic issues – targeted, well-founded interventions to eliminate bottlenecks and revitalize key sectors.
🔹 International openness – Moldova Region’s “opening to the world” through cross-border cooperation, exports, promotion, and international partnerships.
Objectives and outcomes by 2030
The coherent implementation of MPDMR 2025 will generate concrete results such as:
✔️ Constant mapping of economic opportunities and updating the interactive digital portfolio via MoldovaHUB
✔️ Revitalization of the regional industry in each county
✔️ Growth of exports and integration into international value chains
✔️ Development of regional tourism and access to new external markets
✔️ Public health reform with a balanced regional approach
✔️ Youth involvement in all major strategic directions through the Youth Panel and the Regional Excellence Program
✔️ Launch of the “MADE IN MOLDOVA” network
✔️ Support for regional cultural identity as a foundation for cohesion and local pride
✔️ Strengthening the relationship with the Republic of Moldova and opening toward Ukraine and Europe
A call for regional unity
All these efforts, no matter how well-founded, will never fully reach their potential without one essential condition: the unity of the Moldova Region.
This unity is not merely an ideal – it is a practical necessity.
Only together – administrations, the private sector, academia, civil society, youth, and the diaspora – can we transform this region into a model of sustainable and competitive development in Romania and Europe.
