President of CAPDR, Ion ȘTEFANOVICI: “Perhaps this autumn, Romania is facing one of the most enlightening periods in its recent history.”

The summer spent in the mountains of our Region brought me the peace and clarity I needed. Meetings with people, sincere conversations, the clean air, cold spring water, and walks through the forests were more than simple moments of rest. They were a time for reflection, listening, and realigning priorities.

The Action Calendar for this autumn is now ready. I will not go into details, as actions and results will speak for themselves. But there is a truth I feel more clearly each day: what lies ahead could be one of the most enlightening periods in Romania’s recent history.

A Moment of Crossroads

Romania today is experiencing a mix of crises and opportunities. Budget deficits, lack of predictability, and geopolitical tensions weigh on us. At the same time, windows of opportunity are opening that cannot be ignored: strategic investments, major infrastructure projects, international repositioning.

The era of empty declarations is over. Every decision made now has a direct and visible impact on how the country will look in 5, 10, or 20 years.

Why Now Is Different

Romania has faced crises before. But the current context is unique due to the overlap of three essential dimensions:

  • Economic – the public system faces unprecedented pressure, while the private sector needs rapid solutions to remain competitive;
  • Social – people are losing patience and demand concrete results, not promises;
  • Geopolitical – our region is directly exposed to major international tensions and reconfigurations. From this combination arises not just a test, but an opportunity: the chance to show that Romania can move to a higher level of organization and vision.

The Role of Moldova

In this equation, the Moldova Region is no longer a periphery. It is a territory that today draws attention through major infrastructure projects, human and natural resources, and its geostrategic position.

Moldova can become a laboratory for real transformations. Here, local ambitions meet major national and international projects. Here it becomes clear whether words can be turned into actions.

Conclusion

There is no more time for delays. The Action Calendar is ready. The direction is clear.

I will not go into details. Actions and results will speak for themselves.

Perhaps Romania is, this autumn, at the threshold of one of the most enlightening periods in its recent history.

Thought guides action.
