The Voice of the Business Environment: Corina Timofti’s Intervention
Corina Timofti, Director of Hotel Zen Resort & SPA, and member of ANTRIM (National Association for Incoming and Domestic Tourism of the Republic of Moldova), highlighted that this project represents a unique opportunity to leverage shared experience and create sustainable bridges of collaboration between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
“It is an honor for me to be here with you today at such an important moment.”
She presented an inspirational story showing how tourism can become a bridge of collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Romania. She recalled the initiative of a Romanian couple who, after charitable visits to the south of Moldova, fell in love with the village of Purcari and decided to invest in a charming guesthouse that harmoniously blends authenticity, nature, and tradition.
“A few years ago, a couple from Romania, while visiting the south of the Republic for charitable activities, fell hopelessly in love with the village of Purcari. Following these visits, they decided to invest in a charming guesthouse where harmony, authenticity, and untouched nature coexist.”
Sustainable Development through Collaboration
The ANTRIM representative emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in regional development and tourism, noting that the project launched in Chișinău can become a model of success.
“I invite you, distinguished conference participants, to turn this project into a model of sustainable collaboration, to get involved, combine resources, and shape prosperous and truly sustainable regional products.”
She also reaffirmed the private sector’s openness, particularly the tourism sector, to support cross-border development initiatives.
“As a member of the National Association for Incoming and Domestic Tourism of the Republic of Moldova, I want to assure you of our support, and I am confident that this collaboration will be exceptionally fruitful.”
Conclusion
The meeting demonstrated that cross-border partnerships are not just an administrative exercise but a living process with a direct impact on local communities and economies. The project “Transfer of Good Practices and Strengthening Administrative Capacity in Regional Development Policy between Romania and the Republic of Moldova” is shaping up as a pragmatic, results-oriented framework for collaboration.
Corina Timofti’s intervention brought a concrete and inspirational dimension, highlighting that tourism, through responsible investments and the promotion of authenticity, can become a catalyst for regional development and for strengthening ties between the two states.
Thus, the conference not only launched a technical initiative but also laid the foundation for a model of sustainable cooperation, where public administration, the private sector, and civil society can jointly contribute to modernizing policies and creating competitive and sustainable regional products.
