Tourism and Natural Heritage
The first infotrip organized within the Forum was presented and coordinated by Carmen Boiciuc, who guided participants in discovering two remarkable attractions. The first was Poiana Izvoarelor Guesthouse, located a few kilometers from Vatra Dornei, on the way towards Bistrița Năsăud.
Carmen Boiciuc emphasized that this guesthouse represents a “gateway” to the mountain wildlife of the region, offering visitors the opportunity to observe deer, bison, and other species adapted to the mountain environment, as well as to discover the special activities prepared by the hosts.
The second attraction visited was the Monastery of the Protection of the Mother of God in Dorna Arini, featuring spectacular architecture influenced by the Maramureș style. The monastery stands out through its 60-meter-high bell tower and 24 synchronized bells, offering an impressive auditory and visual experience.
“We invite you to discover these special places, both nature and culture, and to enjoy the beauty of Vatra Dornei and its surroundings. We will depart at 6 PM from the Casino of the Dornelor Palaces, and participants will return to the same point after a complete and captivating experience.”
Culture and Regional Identity
These visits highlight the cultural and traditional heritage of the region and the importance of balancing the preservation of traditions with the promotion of innovation. The initiatives presented show how local resources can be transformed into tourism experiences and development projects with an impact on communities.
