TOPIC: “The Republic of Moldova’s Path to Accession and the Importance of Strengthening Institutional Competencies”
In his address, the Director of ADR Chișinău highlighted the importance of the current moment in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s accession negotiations with the European Union and its development strategy. He emphasized that, with the allocation of financial resources, a significant portion of the funds will be directed to the Regional Development Agencies (ADR), whose role is crucial on the path to European integration.
Strengthening Institutional Competencies
During the discussions, Sergiu Brînză stressed the need to strengthen the competencies of institutions to avoid the mistakes made by Romania in the past. “It is essential to accelerate the training process to empower local administrations so they can acquire the necessary expertise in drafting and implementing projects.” The Director of ADR Chișinău mentioned that the experience and expertise of the team are important in this process.
Sergiu Brînză emphasized the importance of educational initiatives. “Education is essential to form individuals who will support us over the next six years, until 2030, so that things progress rapidly and we achieve the goals set for Moldova 2030.” The Director of ADR Chișinău reiterated the importance of collaboration and the transfer of experience, expressing confidence that, together with Ion Ștefanovici – President of C.A.P.D.R., he will take the necessary steps to initiate an educational project.
Recognition and Organization of Partnerships
Sergiu Brînză expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the Regional Economic Forum Moldova held in Vatra Dornei and noted the presence of numerous mayors from the Republic of Moldova. “I am particularly delighted to see the presence of a large number of mayors from the Republic of Moldova, many of whom have partnerships and twinnings with their counterparts in Romania.” He stressed the need to recognize and organize these partnerships in a more structured manner.
In conclusion, Sergiu Brînză remarked on the importance of swiftly carrying out activities to bring benefits to both Romania and the Republic of Moldova. “I hope that our activities will progress quickly and efficiently, bringing benefits to both Romania and the Republic of Moldova.”
