After the completion of the XVIII edition of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum, held from July 4 – 6, 2024, in Vatra Dornei, the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (CAPDR) initiated a process to collect feedback from participants to assess the impact and utility of the event
In this regard, a set of three essential questions has been formulated to provide a clear perspective on the benefits gained by participants and to identify their needs for future editions of the Forum.
The first question focuses on the overall evaluation of the usefulness of attending the Moldova Regional Economic Forum Moldova, asking participants to describe the new information or relationships gained and to explain how these will be applied in the development of the communities they represent. This reflects the organizers’ interest in understanding the direct impact of the event on regional development and local initiatives.
The second question concentrates on identifying the type of support or resources that participants would find useful from the organizers to support their regional development efforts. Through this question, CAPDR aims to improve the quality and relevance of the support provided in future editions of the Forum.
In the context of the decision to hold all future editions of the Forum exclusively in Vatra Dornei, under the name “Moldova Regional Economic Forum from Vatra Dornei,” participants were also asked if they are interested in participating in the XIX edition in 2025 and what suggestions they have for improving the event. This question aims to involve participants in the planning and optimization process of the Forum, ensuring active participation and increased relevance of the event.
These questions reflect CAPDR’s effort to align the Moldova Regional Economic Forum with long-term strategic goals in the context of regional development and European integration, with a reference horizon of 2030.

What do you consider was the usefulness of your participation in the Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2024? What new information or relationships did you gain and how do you intend to apply them in the development of the community you represent?
Participation in the Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2024 has provided me with many useful experiences and development opportunities. The main benefits of participation can be highlighted as follows:
- Exchange of experience and knowledge: At the Forum, I attended Room No. 3, where discussions were held about investments and industrial parks. As a part-time administrator of the Comrat Municipality Industrial Park, I gained valuable knowledge about similar projects implemented in Romania, as well as ways to attract investments for the development of Industrial Parks. Reports and discussions on current topics of economic development, innovation, and sustainable development were presented. This allowed me to gain new ideas and better understand current economic trends.
- Perspectives for strategic planning: The information received and the experts’ opinions helped me reconsider some aspects of strategic planning and development approaches. This knowledge will be useful for implementing more efficient and innovative solutions in the Comrat Municipality in the activities of the Industrial Park and other investment projects.
- Plans for using the information received and connections in community development: Implementing best practices: Based on the successful examples presented at the forum, I plan to adapt and implement efficient strategies and technologies in our community.
- Development of partnerships: Using existing contacts, I intend to develop collaborations with other organizations and companies that could result in new opportunities for our community.
- Training and development: Organizing seminars and training sessions for community members to transfer the knowledge and skills acquired will increase the overall level of competence and competitiveness.
Thus, participation in the forum not only expanded my horizons but also provided me with concrete tools to contribute to the development and prosperity of the community I represent.
What type of support or resources would you like to receive from the Forum organizers to support your regional development efforts?
To support my regional development efforts, I would like to receive the following resources and assistance from the organizers of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum:
- Access to educational resources: Organizing training seminars and master courses on best practices in economic development and project management will contribute to improving the skills of specialists in our region.
- Creation of a platform for exchange of experience: Establishing a permanent platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge among forum participants, allowing them to share success stories and find solutions to common problems.
- Financial support: A list of grants and partnership assistance from Romanian colleagues for implementing specific projects aimed at improving infrastructure, supporting small and medium enterprises, and introducing innovative technologies.
- Assistance in finding investors: Assistance in establishing contacts with potential investors and partners interested in developing projects in our region.
- Promotion of regional initiatives: Support in promoting successful regional initiatives internationally to draw attention to the region’s potential.
Are you interested in participating in the XIX edition in 2025, and do you have any suggestions for improving the event?
We thank the organizers of the Forum for the opportunity to participate. Everything was organized and executed at a very high level. We would be very pleased to participate in the Forum planned for 2025. It would be useful to consider using an “online” participation format to allow remote access, thereby expanding the audience and facilitating access for those who cannot be physically present.
