TEMA: „Facilitating investments in the community and increasing social impact through support measures for future entrepreneurs and establishing Social Enterprises in Less Developed Regions”
During the Investments Panel at the Regional Economic Forum Moldova 2024, Liliana Agheorghicesei, President of the Suceava County SME Association and President of the Federation of Business Women from the North-East Region addressed the topic of facilitating investments in the community and increasing social impact through support measures for future entrepreneurs and the establishment of social enterprises in less developed regions.
Attracting Investments and Supporting Entrepreneurship
Liliana Agheorghicesei highlighted the efforts of the Suceava County SME Associations in attracting local investments and establishing new businesses through support measures for future entrepreneurs:
“By focusing on the development of the North-East region as well as other less developed regions of Romania, the SME Associations in Suceava County initiate and carry out various actions and activities aimed at attracting local investments through support measures for future entrepreneurs and establishing new local businesses.
With over 15 years of experience in writing and implementing European-funded projects, the organization continues to provide the necessary support to local communities to encourage entrepreneurial spirit, grow and develop the local and regional business environment, reduce unemployment, and increase employment.
Development Projects Funded by European Funds
The President of the Suceava County SME Association explained that four new projects funded by European funds will be implemented during the 2024-2027 period through the Education and Employment and Inclusion and Social Dignity programs. The general objective of these projects is the integration of people from vulnerable groups in urban and rural areas into the labor market, as well as promoting self-employment and social economy activities.
“Through the activities of the 4 projects, we will contribute to the development of the workforce in the social economy sector, support entrepreneurial and social managerial skills, enhance economic competitiveness, and promote sustainable development at local and regional levels”, said Liliana Agheorghicesei.
The projects will provide funding for 123 new businesses, social enterprises that will employ people from vulnerable groups, with funding ranging from 60,000 to 100,000 euros, depending on the number of employees (minimum 4 employees).
Conclusion
Liliana Agheorghicesei reaffirmed the commitment of the Suceava County SME Associations to support the establishment of new businesses both at the North-East regional level and nationally through European funding, stating: “The Suceava County SME Associations have moved from words to actions 15 years ago, supporting the establishment of new businesses both at the North-East regional level and nationally through European funding”.
