After the completion of the XVIII edition of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum, held from July 4 – 6, 2024, in Vatra Dornei, the Center for Regional Development Analysis and Planning (CAPDR) initiated a process to collect feedback from participants in order to assess the impact and usefulness of the event

In this regard, a set of three essential questions was formulated to provide a clear perspective on the benefits gained by participants and to identify their needs for future editions of the Forum.

The first question addresses the overall assessment of the utility of participating in the Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2024, asking participants to describe the new information or relationships gained and explain how these will be applied in the development of the communities they represent. This reflects the organizers’ interest in understanding the direct impact of the event on regional development and local initiatives.

The second question focuses on identifying the type of support or resources that participants would find useful from the organizers to support their regional development efforts. Through this question, CAPDR aims to improve the quality and relevance of the support provided in future editions of the Forum.

In the context of the decision to hold all future editions of the Forum exclusively in Vatra Dornei, under the name „Moldova Regional Economic Forum from Vatra Dornei,” participants were also asked whether they are interested in participating in the XIX edition in 2025 and what suggestions they have for improving the event. This question seeks to involve participants in the planning and optimization process of the Forum, ensuring active participation and increased relevance of the event.

These questions reflect CAPDR’s effort to align the Moldova Regional Economic Forum with long-term strategic objectives, within the context of regional development and European integration, with a reference horizon of 2030.

What do you consider was the usefulness of your participation in the Moldova Regional Economic Forum 2024? What new information or relationships did you gain and how do you intend to apply them in the development of the community you represent?

We must mention from the outset that it was a special event, organized at the highest level. During the Forum, we learned about possible opportunities in applying Concept Notes for submitting cross-border projects and attracting extra-budgetary investments for the development of the Soroca community. We communicated with potential partners about the possibilities of signing cooperation agreements and exchanged experiences.

What type of support or resources would you like to receive from the Forum organizers to support your regional development efforts?

Regarding support and resources to assist our regional development efforts, we would like to collaborate with the Romanian side in three main areas:

• Construction of a main water supply pipeline in the Northern Region of the district (we have the necessary technical documentation);
• Development of tourism, including rural tourism;
• Reconstruction and preservation of historical monuments of regional, national, and local importance (Soroca Fortress, Candle of Gratitude, etc.);

Are you interested in participating in the XIX edition in 2025 and do you have any suggestions for improving the event?

We are interested in participating in future editions of the Forum and believe it is important to continue organizing them, as it would be a strong bridge of collaboration between brothers and would help in the economic development on both sides of the Prut River.

Regarding suggestions for improving the event, we consider it was an impeccable event, and we wish you much success in the future, God willing!
