Suceava Deputy Lucian-Florin PUȘCAȘU, in the context of FERM 2025: “The business community must gain the power to influence public policies”

100 economic opportunities for the development of the Moldova Region on the A7 Highway route
During the 19th edition of the Moldova Regional Economic Forum (FERM), held from July 9–13 in Vatra Dornei, Suceava deputy Lucian-Florin Pușcașu delivered a clear message urging the business community to mobilize, advocating for unity and responsibility in relation to political decision-makers.
Present as a guest, Pușcașu emphasized the importance of such events, noting that they provide a genuine opportunity to build bridges between economic and political actors.
“I expect the idea of unity within the business community to take shape and materialize after these meetings and the upcoming panels.”
A Call for Responsibility and Coherence in Representing Economic Interests
The deputy issued a firm appeal to entrepreneurs and company representatives, encouraging them to recognize the power they hold and the responsibility they have regarding the evolution of society:
“I urge business agents to become increasingly aware of the power they represent, to work in unity, which I hope will be further strengthened after this Forum.”
He also highlighted the need for the business community to take an active role in shaping public policies, overcoming passivity in the face of government decisions:
“They are the ones who should hold the main influence over the political environment.”
Strong Criticism of Politics: “A Political Class Detached from Reality”
In a speech marked by sincerity and concern for Romania’s current state, Pușcașu sharply criticized how politics has come to dominate society in the absence of genuine representation:
“What is happening now in Romanian society, with politics unnaturally dictating policies that no longer represent anyone, must change.”
The deputy argues that this change could come directly from the entrepreneurial sector, through an articulated, professional, and coherent reaction from those who keep the economy functioning:
“Such an attitude can come from the business community.”
Hope and Responsibility in the Face of Crisis
Lucian-Florin Pușcașu expressed confidence that the debates and solutions generated within the Forum could lead to a real reconfiguration of the relationship between the private economy and the political sphere:
“I believe that following these debates and the solutions that the business community can propose, they can succeed in convincing the political environment (…) that things can take shape in the future and yield real solutions to correct the situations.”
At the same time, he emphasized the need for political accountability, condemning current tendencies to avoid responsibility in the face of crisis:
“We are in a disaster that everyone declares while washing their hands, without taking any responsibility.”
FERM – A Catalyst for Change
Organized annually, the Moldova Regional Economic Forum (FERM) brings together leaders from public administration, the business community, international organizations, and investors from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, the EU, the Western Balkans, the Middle East, and Asia. The forum aims to create an effective dialogue space, foster active collaboration, and identify strategic solutions for the development of the Moldova region.
In this context, Deputy Pușcașu’s message deeply resonates with the spirit of the forum: the consolidation of a coherent voice for the business community, which can contribute not only to economic growth but also to rebalancing political life in Romania.
“I place great hope, because indeed, as has been repeated, the business community is what Romanian society relies on to a very large extent.”
