Mayor of Tudora Commune (Botoșani), Constantin Cocoreanu: “We are eager for collaboration, we are eager for development”

The Mayor of Tudora Commune, Constantin Cocoreanu, emphasized the importance of continuing cross-border collaboration and the local administration’s desire to develop sustainable partnerships with communities in the Republic of Moldova.

He recalled the beginnings of the bilateral relationship between the localities, highlighting the special connection between Tudora Commune and the village of Tudora in Ștefan Vodă District:

“Thank you very much for the invitation. I came with great pleasure, perhaps also with the desire to resume some ideas. When I refer to this, I mean that in 2006 a twinning protocol was signed: Tudora Commune with Tudora village, in Ștefan Vodă District.”

The mayor also acknowledged the challenges encountered in accessing funds for cross-border projects, emphasizing that each experience represents a step forward and an opportunity for learning:

“We submitted a cross-border project, which unfortunately was not successful because we did not achieve the required score. But there is always a new beginning.”

Finally, Constantin Cocoreanu highlighted the commitment and determination of the local administration to harness the area’s resources and potential, emphasizing development prospects:

“We are eager for collaboration, we are eager for development. Tudora can become a very important area.”

The mayor’s message reflects both openness to concrete partnerships and a belief in a future where local development and cross-border cooperation can bring significant benefits to the community, strengthening the historical and cultural ties between the two banks of the Prut River.
