The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to China, Petru Frunze, together with the team of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the People’s Republic of China, has launched an extensive process to identify manufacturing companies and reliable distributors.
The aim of this initiative is to compile a verified list of suppliers of machinery, equipment, construction materials and other products, which will subsequently be made available to businesses in the Republic of Moldova.
Reducing Trade Risks and Protecting Businesses
Through this initiative, the Embassy aims to reduce trade risks, avoid unreliable intermediaries and protect Moldovan companies against potential fraud. Unfortunately, such risks are real. For example, a business operator from Ialoveni District reported transferring a substantial sum of money to a company in China without receiving either the products or a refund. Similar situations occur frequently, given the large number of seemingly credible commercial offers that are, in fact, international fraud schemes.
Support for Moldovan Exporters
Another objective of the Embassy is to identify reliable distributors in China in order to support Moldovan exporters in establishing long-term partnerships, increasing export volumes and developing new business relationships. To this end, discussions have been held with the leadership of China’s Ministry of Commerce. In the coming period, meetings are also planned with representative business associations, the China Chamber of Commerce, as well as authorised distributors. These efforts are supported by the Chinese authorities.
Direct Visits to Manufacturers
To assess the credibility and operational capacity of machinery and equipment manufacturers, the Embassy has initiated direct visits to these companies. This measure aims to create a safer business environment, facilitate direct partnerships between companies from the Republic of Moldova and China, reduce costs associated with intermediaries and support the growth of Moldovan exports.
Conclusion
The process of verifying and identifying reliable business partners is complex and time-consuming. Nevertheless, the Embassy is confident that these efforts will deliver tangible results. Over time, businesses in the Republic of Moldova will be able to conduct commercial activities under safer, more efficient and more profitable conditions.
