Message of Mayor Viorica Beregoi
In front of a large audience, the mayor emphasized the importance of the current moment for the Republic of Moldova.
“Honorable audience, we are entering a decisive stage, even a historic one. After obtaining the status of candidate country, the Republic of Moldova will have access to the EU pre-accession funds.”
Viorica Beregoi reminded that these resources will not come automatically, but only through well-prepared projects, which makes the existence of a strong regional development agency essential.
“We need a strong institution, with a well-trained team, capable of developing strategic projects for infrastructure, education, environment, digitalization, and the local economy. A consolidated agency means more expertise, more transparency, and more chances to transform every available leu into a real investment for communities.”
The risk of missing opportunities and the chance for a new beginning
The Mayor of Trușeni pointed out that the lack of an efficient structure could jeopardize the absorption of European funds:
“Without such a structure, we risk missing historic opportunities. With it, we can transform the Chișinău region into a growth engine, an example for the whole country.”
At the same time, she highlighted the importance of partnership with Romania, which can be a major advantage for the Republic of Moldova.
“Having Romania as a trusted example and partner is a privilege and an honor for us. It is an advantage that Romania did not have. And for this reason, it missed many absorption opportunities.”
